H&C® INFUSION™ LINE PROVIDES CONCRETE CONTRACTORS WITH

AN EDGE THE ON DECORATIVE CONCRETE DESIGN MARKET

Innovative Line Of Stain, Sealer And Floor Finish,

Ideal For Commercial Applications

Cleveland, Ohio—January, 2004—H&C® Concrete Stain continues to provide professional customers with cutting-edge products by introducing the Infusion™ Line of stains, sealers and floor finish. H&C InfusionTM Reactive Concrete Stains enhance new and existing concrete by adding decorative and unique shading of colors. The stain is ideal for large commercial applications such as grocery stores, restaurants, retail outlets and office buildings, as well as residential homes.

Designed for new or aged concrete, Infusion Reactive Concrete Stain is an acid based product that creates a unique mottled and variegated look.  This chemical process allows the stain to permanently bond with the floor surface, which means the stain will wear only as the concrete wears.

H&C Infusion Reactive Concrete Stains are available in eight ready-to-use colors, although intermixing different stains together allows professionals to infinitely expand the color effects offered to customers.  It is important to remember though, when mixing stains together for additional colors, a record of the mix ratio should be made for reference should future color matches be required.

Once a stain color has been chosen by a customer, the application process can begin.  The following is an outline of the staining procedure:

STEP ONE—CLEANING THE AREA

·        The surface must be clean bare concrete, free from all paint, sealers, curing compounds, bond breakers, grease and oil.

STEP TWO—TESTING

·        It is imperative to do a small test before project installation in an inconspicuous area. Due to the nature of all stains, the final color may vary throughout the installation depending on the age, texture, finishing techniques and other variables within the concrete surface. Also, it’s also important to note that the surface will not appear uniform, as H&C Infusion Reactive Concrete Stain will give a variegated, mottled appearance, highlighting cracks and blemishes in the concrete. Read all cautions and MSDS before any work is started

STEP THREE—APPLYING THE STAIN

·        Rope off areas to be stained and keep all traffic clear until the installation is complete. Be sure to wear suitable protective gear. Additionally, since Infusion Reactive Concrete Stain will react with metals, remember to use nonmetallic equipment such as an acid resistant pump sprayer. Also, the use of brushes, brooms, sprayers and buckets that are nonmetallic is recommended.

·         Apply the stain and immediately begin scrubbing; keeping the brush in constant contact and motion with the surface. Keep a wet edge and a uniformly saturated surface. Gradually spread the stain until fizzing stops. DO NOT allow the stain to puddle, splash, or drip on the floor or treated surface, as darkening and discoloration from the rest of the floor or treated surface will occur. Allow the stain to sit on the surface for a minimum of four hours before removing the residue.

STEP FOUR—RINSING AND CLEANING THE AREA

·              Remove Infusion Reactive Concrete Stain residue by wet scrubbing with a neutralizing cleaner, and then rinse the surface until the rinse water is clean. All residues must be removed before any additional coatings can be applied.  Allow the surface to dry 24 hours after the final rinse, before applying any sealer.

Once the area has been stained, rinsed and cleaned, it’s recommended that either H&C’s Infusion Solvent Based, or Water Based Sealer be applied for additional surface protection. Both sealers can be used inside or outdoors, as each of them contains ultra violet inhibitors that provide a uniform non-yellowing film. The Infusion Water Based Sealer also provides great resistance to oil and gasoline products while providing a gloss finish.

Additionally, to maintain that shine, H&C Infusion Industrial Floor Finish can be used as a topcoat over the Infusion sealers. It is a tough and flexible metal cross-linked acrylic, formulated to dry to a brilliant gloss.  As an added benefit to the customer, this ultra high solids floor finish does not require buffing to bring out a shine. However, buffing as a part of regular maintenance procedures does prolong the life of the floor. This product is ideal for high traffic areas such as interiors of, schools, office buildings, malls, retail stores, airports, factories, hospitals, hotels and restaurants.
