H&C® Chatahoochee Sealer
is a solvent-based, silicone acrylic sealer. It's an excellent final
coat for H&C®
Silicone Acrylic Concrete Sealer for added durability and a
semi-gloss finish. It dries crystal clear and never discolors. It
provides years of protection from the elements and heavy foot traffic.
Interior and exterior surfaces, like:
- Chatahoochee Stone
- Mortar Epoxy-Set Stone
- Unglazed Brick
- Masonry
You'll need a stiff broom, natural bristle brush, a soft-woven roller cover with a 3/8" - 1/2" nap, a roller frame and a paint tray.
You can also use an airless sprayer for ease and quickness. Make sure to back roll after airless spraying to work the product smoothly and evenly into the surface. This will decrease the possibility of puddles or runs on the surface and ensure a properly penetrated finish.

Weather Conditions
- Be sure to apply under very dry conditions only. Application to a damp surface may cause a hazy appearance and could cause lifting. Do not apply if rain is expected within 12 hours following application.
- Air and surface temperature should be between 50º and 90ºF for 24 hours following application. This will ensure proper product penetration.
Mixing
- It's a good idea to stir the sealer slowly and thoroughly before
and during the application process. Do not shake-avoid "whipping"
air into the sealer.
- For damp or inclined areas that tend to get slippery, and where
traction is important, add H&C®
SharkGripTM Slip Resistant
Additive to your sealer.
Thinning
Applying
- Before applying your coating, make sure you have followed the proper surface preparation methods for the surface you are coating.
- For horizontal applications, after surface prep, sweep the surface with a stiff broom to remove any remaining residue.
Cleaning
- Cleanup is easy-simply use mineral spirits or xylene, which you can find at your local home improvement store.
First Coat:
- If your surface has corners or edges, coat those with your brush first to assure complete coverage of the sealer.
- Using your roller, evenly apply the first coat to the rest of your surface, working in one direction.
- Let it dry at least 3 hours before applying the second coat.
- Be careful not to overwork the product. If the coating has partially dried, overworking it could cause it to lift from the surface.
Second Coat:
- For best coverage, use your roller and apply the second coat
in the opposite direction of the first coat (i.e., apply North
to South if you applied the first coat East to West).
- Two coats of H&C® Chatahoochee
Sealer are sufficient on a bare surface.
- Using your roller, evenly apply one coat over the entire surface, working in one direction.
- One coat is sufficient.
