H&C^® SB-50 Water Repellent
H&C^® SB-50 Water Repellent is an economical, 5% silicone, solvent-based water repellent. It offers a crystal clear finish and will not discolor concrete. It is permeable to water vapor and is mildew-resistant. This water repellent cannot be painted over.

Where to Use
Most bare and porous masonry surfaces like:

• Unglazed Tile
• Brick
• Concrete
• Plaster

Supplies Checklist
You'll need a stiff broom, a nylon/polyester brush, a roller with a 3/8" - 1/2" nap. You can also use a low-pressure airless sprayer, conventional sprayer or power roller.

Airless Sprayer	Pressure: 200 psi Tip: .013" - .015"
Conventional Sprayer	Air Pressure: 10 - 15 psi Fluid Pressure: 5 - 10 psi Cap/Tip size: 704FX or equivalent

Important Things to Keep in Mind

Weather Conditions

• Air and surface temperature should be between 50º and 90ºF during application and for 24 hours following application. This will ensure proper product penetration.
• You must protect the coating from rain for 4 to 5 hours to allow the water repellent to become effective.

• No etching is required when using on a textured or broom finish.
• Before applying your coating, make sure you have followed the proper surface preparation methods for the surface you are coating.
• For horizontal applications, after surface prep, sweep the surface with a stiff broom to remove any remaining residue.
• At least two coats are recommended.

• Cleanup is easy-simply use soap and water after your project is complete.

Application Methods:

• If your surface has corners or edges, coat those with your brush first to assure complete coverage of the water repellent.
• Using a low pressure airless sprayer, conventional sprayer or power roller, apply your first coat.
• For best results, use a low pressure sprayer so the solution is applied in the form of droplets rather than a mist.
• Vertical surfaces must be "flooded," allowing the material to run down 8 to 10 inches. Always work from the bottom up.
• Horizontal surfaces can be applied by the "flood" method or with a conventional roller or your brush as long as enough material is used so it can stand for a few seconds before completely penetrating.
• Let your first coat dry 24 hours before applying your second coat.

Please note: When dry, treated surfaces appear identical to untreated surfaces so it's difficult to determine whether or not you have already treated an area. Be sure, when taking a break, to stop applying either on a corner or any other obvious marker so you can re-start the application exactly where you ended it.
