Product Data Sheet

  1. Product Supplies

    • Pump-up sprayer
    • Imprinting tools
    • H&C Etching Solution
  2. Product Preparation

This product requires no special preparation. Be sure to saturate imprinting tools and the cementitious surface with Liquid Release.  Please refer to the Product Application for more details.
  3. Product Application

H&C Liquid Release should be applied using a pump-up sprayer. Imprinting tools and the cementitious surface must  be saturated with the Liquid Release prior to stamping. The release should be applied at temps. above 40°F and rising. Direct sunlight and windy conditions will accelerate the evaporative properties of H&C® Liquid Release, so saturate imprinting tools and the stamping surface thoroughly to prevent the release agent from evaporating quickly. Imprinting tools and mats should be thoroughly cleaned of residue and all other release agents prior to use of H&C Liquid Release.

Prior to application of any concrete stain, sealer or concrete coating, a wash coat of H&C Etching Solution (5:1 water to Etcher) should be applied to the stamped surface. The wash coat will remove any release agent that may have formed a seal on the surface, which can prevent penetration and adhesion of a stain, sealer or coating. Agitating the Etching solution with medium/soft bristle brushes will help to remove any residual release agent. Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water to remove all residual etching solution. Once dry, test the overlay for porosity by dropping water onto the surface. The water should penetrate quickly and slightly darken the overlay. Any water beading or standing on the surface means residual release agent is still present and another wash coat of the H&C Etching Solution should be performed and water test done.
